Puppy Boarding School
Our modern, progressive, positive reinforcement Puppy Board and Train Dog Program will set your puppy up for a successful life as a loving family pet and a Metro Vancouver canine citizen. #CareyTrainsMe uses up-to-date techniques that build confidence, resilience, and reliability. We use food, affection, praise and play as rewards. Our motto is rewarding calmness; even though we make calm behaviour the utmost rewarding, your puppy’s board and train days are fulfilled with canine enrichment, fitness, brain games, habituation, socialization with people, dogs and new environments, protocols building impulse control, frustration tolerance, and manners around toys and food, plus formal puppy obedience training.

Trying to find dog training resources on the internet is painstaking. Google “how to raise a puppy” results in thousands of confusing contradictions. #CareyTrainsMe has trained hundreds of Metro Vancouver Puppies and is an expert in Board and Train programs. In an ideal world, it is perfect that your household introduces your puppy day in and day out to bond and build trust with your puppy. At #CareyTrainMe, we know life happens, whether it is sleep deprivation from adopting a new puppy, travel, new work demands, renovations, family commitments or other scheduling challenges or if you want professional help to give your puppy the ultimate foundation building blocks to build on, we can help. Puppy Boarding school is an opportunity for you and your puppy to start your life together without sleep deprivation and frustration.
What to Expect
We are a home Environment, not a boarding facility; we are small and inclusive. While enrolled in our Puppy Board and Train, your puppy lives comfortably in our home with supervised access to the house and yard, and bedtime is spent in the safety of their crate. The puppies are treated as part of the family, have plenty of supervised playtimes, and enjoy age-appropriate socialization opportunities, including exploring strolls through neighbourhoods and visits to Home Depot or pet stores.
Your puppy will receive at least six daily training sessions to meet your specified goals and consistently reinforce polite household manners. Here are some examples of what your puppy will practice during their stay:
-
Crate Training
-
Appropriate Chewing

While your puppy is enrolled at Puppy Boarding School, you will receive photos, texts, and regular training video updates of your puppy's progress via WhatsApp. You are welcome to email and check in on your puppy anytime. Each week while your puppy is at school, you will receive homework to prepare your household for their return.
Puppy Boarding School Graduation.
We provide a graduation video link to show you all the commands/cues your puppy has learned and their level with each command/cue. We also ask for an hour of your time upon pick up to review the training, where you will receive hands-on learning.
Follow-Up Session
7-10 days after your puppy graduates from their puppy board and train program, you will be scheduled for a zoom session that your entire household can attend. We will build on your puppy's new skills during the zoom session. Additional zoom sessions can be purchased after your follow-up Zoom session.

I highly recommend Carey for dog training. I brought my 12-week-old puppy to her for a 3-week board and train program, specifically to address nipping, biting, and general obedience like sit commands and crate training.
When my puppy returned, he no longer exhibited nipping or biting behavior and was noticeably more obedient overall.
I’m incredibly grateful to Carey for her help and would strongly recommend her services to anyone in need of dog training.

No words can express our gratitude...
Our family was extremely excited to have another pup enter into our home, but we were faced with what seemed like an impossible task. Bowie, our Dalmadoodle was riddled with stress and anxiety. Carey took on Bowie and dedicated time, effort and energy into him. We didn't know what the future held for Bowie and our family ... and I'm happy to say that Carey and her team changed that for us. The kids have their pup home and we are forever grateful!
- Sincerely the family of the Bowie aka "the goat"

Carey helped us with my Aussie Shepherd when he was a rambunctious, badly behaved nightmare puppy and he's turned out (thanks to her help and advice) to be a class A gentleman dog. She's very patient, knowledgeable and passionate about dog care and behaviour - I highly recommend her if you're needing a dog walker or have some behaviour issues you'd like to address!
Note that puppies over 16 weeks will focus more on leash skills and calm outdoors, assuming their potty training is on track.
